Portland snow- lasts for a few hours

Provo snow- lasts for 6 months and continues to pile up higher while turning the whole state into an ugly, brown iceberg.

yeah, i went there.

AND since I can't resist a good Meeka picture...

How can this sweet little face be so naughty?

 They say that cats have nine lives, right?

Well mine has already used four of those lives up. She's only five months old. 

(Things aren't going well for her it appears.)

Things your cat can do that qualify as LOSING one of her lives:

1. turning on the garbage disposal (yes, the switch) and then leaving it on ALL day. I came home to the loudest noise and the best smell of burnt rubber. I very seriously expected to see a CSI crime scene in my sink a la Meeka.
2. climbing into the fireplace -yes, there was a fire inside. While the fire was going, she climbed behind the metal cover and had her face in the flames. I promptly grabbed her from it since she was completely unfazed by burning herself.
3. jumping into the toilet bowl to drown. She jumped into the toilet one day. Grumpy, grumpy, wet kitty.
4. dislocating her jaw to try and rip off her collar. Adam woke up this morning to our cat's jaw underneath her pretty tight collar. Her mouth was bleeding and it broke one of her teeth. Long night for Meeka...

Yes, these all have happened.

When did we get her?

November 27th. Judge me all you want, but I have now saved a cat's life FOUR times.

She has five lives left.
